Lady Roadrunners Fend off Lady Dragons

After dropping a road game in Kilgore on Wednesday, the Lady 'Runners bounced back with a big win over Paris Junior College at home on Saturday, holding off the Lady Dragons by a 57-51 final at Shands Gymnasium.

India McMahon's huge day included a 20-point, 13-rebound effort. Lanaijha Johnson scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds and Alecia Rivera-Scott finished with nine points and five assists.

AC trailed just twice in a hard-fought game, once at 3-2 and again at 26-25 in the 2nd quarter. The rest of the time, the Lady 'Runners combination of key defensive plays and timely buckets helped fend off a stubborn Lady Dragon squad. 

The Lady 'Runners (9-9, 2-3) will play in Carthage on Wednesday against Panola College, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

AC's ladies then return home on Saturday for a showdown with No. 15 Trinity Valley Community College starting at 2 p.m. at Shands Gymnasium.
