Athletic Trainer Howard Krohn (MS, ATC, LAT, PES) became Angelina College’s first full-time staff athletic trainer with his arrival in 2017. Prior to that, Krohn was practicing Sports Medicine and doing outreach at middle schools in San Antonio.

Krohn has experience working with championship collegiate teams since beginning professional practice in 2014 when he joined The University of Texas at Tyler’s sports medicine staff. While at UT-Tyler, Howard assisted in maintaining the health, longevity, and performance of the men’s soccer team as well as the men’s and women’s tennis teams. During his time with the tennis teams, Howard was a part of several championships: ASC Men’s Tennis in 2014, 2015, and 2016, and ASC Women’s Tennis in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Krohn also served as the host athletic trainer for the 2014 and 2015 NCAA-III Tennis Regional Tournaments.

Krohn, a junior college transfer, graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from Grand Canyon University in 2012. He became a BoC certified athletic trainer in 2013 and began practicing professionally as a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas in 2014 when he joined The University of Texas at Tyler sports medicine staff. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a focus in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention in 2016. He was a member of the 2015 ASC Sports Medicine Staff of the Year, and served as Host Athletic Trainer for the 2014 NCAA Division-III Tennis Regional Tournament, 2015 NCAA Division-III Tennis Regional Tournament, and the 2015 ASC Men’s Soccer Tournament.

Krohn is a native of Phoenix, Arizona.
