One good way to make a statement in a big playoff game is to score quickly.

An even better way is to score quickly twice.

Angelina College’s Camilla Bedin ripped a shot past the Paris College goalkeeper just 92 seconds into Friday’s match, teammate Marlene Flores scored on a corner kick two minutes afterward and the Lady Roadrunners downed the Lady Dragons 5-2 in regional quarterfinal action on the AC campus.

Bedin would tack on two more scores for her third hat trick of the season. Her second goal came via a rebound from a Suzy Palos header, and her final goal was the result of a long run initiated by Tannia Davis.

In the second half, AC’s Ana Rendon bent a corner kick around the post and the keeper for her second goal in as many matches.

The Lady Roadrunners (7-3-1) travel to Tyler Junior College for Sunday’s (Oct. 29) regional semifinal against the No. 3 Lady Apaches. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

Live streaming will be available on the Tyler Athletics YouTube channel (TJCApacheAthletics).
